Thanks for your comment, Gary.

This blog post was geared toward business opportunity offers more than email phishers and scammers but your observations about those things are completely valid.

Everyday through email or via Skype, someone inevitably offers access to a piece of software or a new *free* program that promises the moon. I'm a bit jaded, I guess. I actually want to see more evidence than screenshots of earnings.

Perhaps the most offensive bizops that I've encountered during my years online are the cash gifting programs.

The internet is an awesome way to generate income. It is also rife with predators who will gladly take your money.

@ Marj,

I can hardly believe how gullible so many people are. The so-called "Nigerian" scams are testament to that. Just send $5,000 by Western Union to get back $1,000,000 for the estate of some "dethroned king" who needs a bank account to get his money out of his overthrown country! DUH!

Or the dating scams where some lonely old biddy who hasn't had sex for like half a century is promised undying love from some mongrel who then proceeds to get her to give him money for all sorts of ridiculous reasons. And when ALL her money is gone then so is he! There was one of those on TV - YET AGAIN - just last night!

Whatever happened to common sense? WHY is it even called common-sense?

Then we have all the IDIOTIC online "push button" rubbish with all the tall stories like some hobo who is supposedly left a secret software package by a dead Clickbank billionaire or the other ALLEGED billionaire who craps on endlessly while showing us all his (RENTED) lear jet, his (RENTED) mansion, his (RENTED) Mercedes and all the other lies.

And why is every fraud touted as a BILLionaire these days? Isn't a millionaire any good any more?

And people believe this garbage!

Caveat Emptor - let the buyer beware.

Good post Marj.

Marj, you just nailed it! I, like you, have grown so tired of all the come on and hipe over this deal and that deal I could just puke! What make me even more irritated is that a couple of years ago (when I was a newbie) I fell into the same trap and spent -well I am not going to say how much because I would embarass myself - a lot of money because it was going to be so easy to make a gazillion dollars almost over night with almost no work. Just doesn't work that way. Thanks for the post. You are the best!
